This application was developed to calculate the dimensions of the circular crown arch needed to manufacture the drag structure of a Helical Conveyor also known as Screw Conveyor. It is a very useful support tool in mechanical engineering, mainly in the industrial equipment manufacturing and industrial maintenance segments. The application has a simple and very instructive layout for the user.The application has the following input data:External Diameter (D);Shaft Diameter (d);Step (P);Thickness (e);These data correspond to the objective dimensions of the geometrically helical structure, that is, the final dimensions of the finished structure.Also as a requirement the application has the Selection of the manufacturing material, which at the end of the calculations will bring information about weight, both of the circular crown arch and of the total helical structure. In the Manufacturing material selection interface, the user has reference values ​​for the specific weight of the most common materials on the market. These values ​​can be entered directly with just one click, or if you prefer, the user can manually enter the specific weight according to the material to be used.As output data and referring to the required circular crown arc, the application brings the following results:External radius (R):Internal radius (r):Arc Width (L):Opening angle (α);Opening height (H):Arc unit weight;Complementing the tool, an additional interface provides the user with the number of arches needed for the project and the total weight of the structure.Through this dimensional information the design of the conveyors mechanical structure becomes assertive and effective. With the specified amount of Arcs properly cut and joined, and later the expansion of the structural set by means of specific tools according to each material and plate thickness, the results are: a helicoid with the outer diameter exactly as designed, the inner diameter (hole) correctly embracing the central axis, whether it is tubular or solid, the thread pitch uniform and the final length defined.
